How often is Business Online updated?

System changes and updates are based on needs identified by our clients. As these are continually changing, we endeavour to keep abreast of our clients’ needs and adapt our system accordingly.

Does Business Online have to be re-installed whenever the system is updated?

No, the nature of the platform on which the system is built allows for ongoing change. New updates are automatically downloaded to your computer by means of electronic software distribution (ESD).

Does the new software have to be downloaded?

Yes. Downloads ensure that you have the most recent version of the Business Online software, which means you will be able to benefit from the latest functionality and enhancements.

How long does the ESD process take?

Download time varies considerably from user to user. A number of factors influence download time. These include:

• the size of the ESD file
• the time of download
• the quality of the line
• the bandwidth available on the line at the time

When do I have to download the software?

When you log into the system updated software will automatically download.

How can I avoid a long download?

The Internet has busy times with peak usage time being between 08:00 and 11:00. The optimum times for ESD download are before 08:00 and after 11:00. Even better results are achieved after business hours.

How will I know the system has been updated and an ESD is planned?

You will receive e-mail notification when system changes are planned. This will indicate when the change or enhancement will be.
